EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2004: Open burning of grass, leaves, and other vegetation requires a permit. Permits may be purchased at City Hall or the Public Library at a cost of $5.00. The fire department does not issue burning permits.

The Fire Department issues permits for the following equipment:
Fuel storage tanks (AST/UST) Hazardous material storage tanks Fire Sprinkler Systems Fire Alarm Systems Other fire suppression systems (Halon, FM-200, etc) Fireworks
Permits from the fire department are obtained by returning the applicable form, along with proper fees, to Assistant Chief Schultz at the Public Safety Building. Click here to view Fire Department permit applications.
Be aware that permits issued by the fire department are seperate from those issued by the city Inspection Division. Also, a seperate alarm permit is required from the City Clerk.
